WHAI & CATIE virtual event: Syphilis Foundations Workshop

WHEN: January 23, 2024 10am-12pm

In recent years, syphilis rates have risen sharply among women across Ontario. Service providers play an important role in increasing knowledge of syphilis, and supporting clients with linkage to prevention, testing, and treatment services.

Workshop Description

This workshop provides foundational knowledge about syphilis tailored to WHAI Coordinators and others who work with WHAI’s priority populations to ensure they are better equipped to speak to community about syphilis. Participants will learn foundational information about increasing syphilis rates, why this is important in the context of WHAI work around HIV prevention and care, as well as the basics about syphilis, how it is passed and prevented, signs and symptoms, and the importance of testing and treatment. This workshop is interactive, allowing attendees to participate in discussions and case study activities to contextualize how to apply this knowledge in their work.
