Unbroken Nations, Accountable Systems: Advancing National Standards in Indigenous Women’s HIV & STBBI Care
Host: WCHC Hub

This is a panel discussion presented by the National Indigenous Women’s HIV & STBBI Wellness Hub. The National Indigenous Women’s HIV & STBBI Wellness Hub is an Indigenous-Women-Led advocacy initiative advancing sovereignty, policy accountability, and culturally grounded rights in HIV and Sexually Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infections (STBBI) care across Canada. Provincial systems often frame current HIV/STBBI challenges among Indigenous Women as “unprecedented,” yet Hub members recognize these as predictable outcomes of structural neglect—including fragmented jurisdiction, chronic underfunding, and forms of policy-driven statistical erasure identified by Indigenous scholars as statistical genocide. This panel features three Hub members from diverse provincial contexts.
Panelists: Claudette Cardinal, Jasmine Cotnam, and Jacqueline Flett
Moderator: Dr. JoLee Sasakamoose
