Prisoners’ Justice Day

Prisoners’ Justice Day is more than a day of remembrance. It is a day of action, solidarity, and a commitment to ensure that lives lost behind prison walls are never forgotten.

This **August 10**, join us in Toronto as we gather in two ways to honour those who have died in Ontario jails and prisons, while standing alongside everyone currently living behind those walls.

**Morning Solidarity Gathering** – 11am
A chartered bus will travel to a correctional facility, where we’ll gather outside in solidarity with those inside. Every year, people incarcerated across Canada mark Prisoners’ Justice Day by refusing meals, holding vigils, or observing moments of silence. Our presence outside reminds them that they are not forgotten.

**3:00 PM Community Vigil**
Join us at **The 519** as we come together to remember those who lost their lives in custody, reflect on the families and communities forever changed by these deaths, and renew our commitment to justice, accountability, and the truth.

Every person who dies in custody leaves behind people who loved them, communities who grieve them, and questions that deserve answers. Their names and stories matter.
