All other areas of collaboration connect to this central theme.<\/p>\n<p>Women\u00a0and gender-diverse people\u00a0identified a need for increased learning and access to HIV self-testing information, noting this as a less stigmatizing testing option. They also discussed resources related to HIV disclosure, especially within the context of criminalization; parenting, infant feeding and care support; and culturally thoughtful, inclusive, and supportive HIV models of care.\u00a0<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/whai.ca\/resource\/collective-action-community-change-a-report-amplifying-community-voices\/\"  target=\"_self\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLearn More in our Latest Report\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whai.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/whai-prevention-prep-icon.svg\" alt=\"whai-prevention-prep-icon\" itemprop=\"image\" title=\"whai-prevention-prep-icon\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t36%\n\t\t\t\t\tOnly 36% of those who were asked about PrEP during WHAI&#8217;s community consultation knew what it is, making education and awareness raising an important part of our work (n=132).<sup>1<\/sup>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whai.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/whai-prevention-uu-icon.svg\" alt=\"whai-prevention-u=u-icon\" itemprop=\"image\" title=\"whai-prevention-u=u-icon\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t54%\n\t\t\t\t\t54% of those asked about U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable) during WHAI&#8217;s community consultations were unfamiliar with the concept, demonstrating the importance of education and awareness raising (n=101).<sup>1<\/sup>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tWhat is WHAI doing?\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Moving the work forward WHAI is committed to strengthening\u00a0women\u00a0and gender-diverse people&#8217;s\u00a0HIV education, prevention, care and support through actions such as:\u00a0<\/p>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Facilitating community capacity building, knowledge exchange and resource development focussing on women and gender-diverse people&#8217;s needs and experiences<\/li>\n<li>Cultivating spaces of sharing and learning amongst women and gender-diverse people living with HIV and community organizations<\/li>\n<li>Amplifying women and gender-diverse people&#8217;s expertise to improve women&#8217;s HIV prevention, care and support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tCommunity Voices\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Our work is always informed by the lived experiences of women and gender-diverse people.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whai.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/whai-commitments-carousel-ivy.png\" alt=\"Illustration of a green ivy plant with detailed leaves and a twisting vine on a white background.\" itemprop=\"image\" title=\"whai-commitments-carousel-ivy\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whai.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/bb-plugin\/cache\/whai-community-voice-iris-circle.jpg\" alt=\"Close-up of a purple petunia flower with a yellow center and water droplets on its petals.\" itemprop=\"image\" title=\"whai-community-voice-iris\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I think education should never stop. I think it would be helpful to use peers from the community as facilitators. The women can relate to them a lot more than they relate to us.
